Here's the first design of my planned cast of supporting characters. Today, we're starting from the one I've most strongly felt the lack of - Yasmin's partner.

I designed this well-endowed little slinky over the past 2 weeks or so, starting from just before my brief vacation up until finalizing his reference sheet today. Some of this information will be repeated from my earlier tier 2 WIP post, since I haven't changed very much from the initial concepts I'd come up with while designing him. I have fleshed things out a fair bit, though, so do read on if you're interested to know more!

First up, here's the concept art I got done in stream while figuring out his look. I polished it up in a few smaller sessions later on, while experimenting with little changes I thought might work well.

Isaac is a ferret, and Yasmin's partner. Just like Yasmin, he's very hedonistic and laid back, and shares a mutually beneficial and very open relationship with her. With her abilities and extensive contacts, she maintains and sustains their extremely indulgent lifestyle. In return, he takes good care of her whenever she might need the extra help.

He's a good match for Yasmin in terms of his personality and attitude, but he also has a special ability that allows him to be more hands-on with maintaining her - being able to alter the shape of those around him. This lets him support Yasmin more directly by taking some of the effort of maintaining her form off of her.

I wondered how best I would have him do this, possibly some way that's both a little restrictive and fun. I came up with the idea of "substance sharing" as a sort-of variation of how some characters use their own special scent or chemicals to affect those around them. In Isaac's case, if you ingest anything he's partaken in, such as second hand smoke or sharing drinks mouth-to-mouth, then he can use the exchange to change your form. Thinking purely in terms of the mechanics, this could come about directly from ingesting his spit, but that the effect also propagates through substances he's imbibed and would therefore grow stronger and more effective with the greater quantities of substances shared.

This worked well for him and Yasmin, as they're likely to smoke and drink together very frequently. Being a shapeshifter isn't easy, so on her off days Isaac can pick up the slack by smoking in the same room and keeping her together while she relaxes. On the flipside, however, keeping him close by meant that she could easily "borrow" his ability to use it on others - including himself.

The form we now see him in isn't what he originally looked like - Yasmin made him that way once she learned how to use his special skill. She frequently plays around with him this way if she happens to be in the mood, but this short but fairly well-endowed body is the one she likes the most. He's grown to like it too, heh.

His extensive experience with shapeshifting, both of others as well as himself, has left him with a fairly loose and flexible sense of identity. He's confident that he knows himself well enough and trusts that Yasmin wouldn't mess around with that part of him, but he's largely become detached from his physical as well as gender identity. Conversely, he's very pansexual and will pretty much fuck anyone who has a pulse and consents, or anything else that wouldn't mind either way.

I'm very proud of Isaac's design, and quite pleased with how this little project has gone. I hope you like him too! I genuinely feel like I've gotten better at designing characters since I took on my "main six" earlier this year. Just gotta keep putting them to good use, now.
