I'm so pleased. 💝

I got to participate in Artconomy's Brushie Awards, and after I put out feelers for folks to nominate me for the categories they felt I was suited for, I was set for a fun surprise. Imagine my excitement when last night, at the ceremony, I won the "Cutest Art" award, and then got nominated for every single category.

I'll not belabor the point, but for ages I've done my best not to let my wanting acknowledgement for my art get in the way of creating it. I want to focus on making for the sake of it above all else.

That shouldn't stop me from appreciating when it does come my way though. It really means the world to me, so I made something appropriate to commemorate, celebrate, and show my gratitude for it.

(Fun fact: this is the first full illustration I made on my new 2-in-1 laptop. Aside from a few little quirks I'm finding ways to work around, I'm really happy with it!)
