Today's Arwyn's birthday, so I made some time after working all day on my upcoming con panel to make her a little something special. She's been working on her car a lot lately, and we both seem to enjoy me calling her my "Diesel Dyke," so the idea was an easy choice.

While digging up old source files for designs on my Merch store, I stumbled upon some old silliness I made for me and Arwyn.

The first pair of images were from back when I first created Ruby, inspired by how Arwyn changed tone when behaving normally around me, or discussing my insecurities about being femme and transgender. She and a few other friends of mine at the time were intensely protective of the soft pink bunny.

The second is fairly self explanatory, but for added context, it's a drawover of a scene in Sailor Moon. I made it for a print as a gift for her back in CFz 2018, which still lives on the side of her PC case to this day.

It's that time again! Got a lot of cute and silly things I've made in between other projects or as warmups during streams.

In the first, quite eclectic set, we have an assortment of Bluesky shenanigans. In order, we have a colouring project from one of Lynn's bunny designs, which I got inspired to use for a Gotye reference; Plushie telling us what her gender is in one word; and me taking an opportunity to do a well-overdue drawover of a classic furry meme.

These were assorted doodles done during various streams for or involving, in order, Mot, Arwyn, Songbot, and a friend of Melody's.

And some bonus bunnies, as a reward for checking out my post. I found this set of sketches while digging up designs for my merch store, and hadn't uploaded anywhere.

Yesterday was Arwyn's Birthday! So I made something for her, to celebrate. She'd been mountain biking that day, so I figured it was a suitable idea to go with.

Happy Birthday darling, I'm glad it was such a good one for you.

Here's the most recent doodle pack finished from the end of last year. Some of these have been posted on social media but here they are in one place for archival and easy access.

Starting with the personal and somewhat emotional stuff, we have one that was inspired by a video that lived in my head rent free for weeks after it was posted and crossed my path. I had to draw myself as that tiny little puppy, cause I felt it.

The other piece was inspired by a predictably difficult time I was having in the midst of a good one, which was equally frustrating as it was upsetting to deal with.

Next we have a couple of pieces of game fanart which are strangely both horror focused and yet the resulting art ended up being completely tonally different. On the left, we have Blocks for Babies, a tetris FPS (you'll see); and on the right, an idle nightmare 2: SABBATH, a clicker game (trust me, it's good).

I will mention that the fanart of IN2 isn't based on any specific scenes from the game, but just something I imagined could have happened in the game.

Next, we have assorted stream gifts and raffle prizes, going in order;

FaerieAlex, Fiona, ShadeTavish, BlazingPelt, James, TrixterCat, and Plushie; Melody, Halley (ft. Arwyn), Dal and Pockets; Trixter's displacer beast; and another bonus Fiona.

Another batch of scribbles; some silly, some sentimental.

Myself, feeling pleased from the praise I was getting; TipTap and Arwyn, during a rather bratty exchange; Me comforting Millie (aka Malachyte) during a heart-to-heart we shared; and a redraw of a classic meme with me in it instead.

And last, but not least, some assorted but more detailed giftart for friends.

Arwyn, being her usual mischievous self; a rendition of a plushie that belongs to my friend Valk; and a drawover with me and Melody using an Animal Crossing screenshot she'd taken for a project of her own.

I ran an experimental stream format where the main feature was Guilty Gear, but I added a rule in which, if I lost two best-of-threes in a row, I would break to raffle off a quickie slot to someone in the audience.

In order, the winners were Blaze (Plush TF), Arwyn (Biker getup), and Max (Shy in Diapers).

I think the format worked quite well, and I'm likely to try it again sometime!

Last night, I ran a stream where I took quick mini sketch commissions to help me get back on track given that I've been struggling a fair bit lately. These were "15 minutes or to completion, whichever's latest" slots. While the short slots did stretch my abilities a tad, I'm quite pleased with the results across the board.

We did have a predominantly crinkly set of requests for the overall session, but a nice variety of themes and poses still. In order, these were for Trixter, Wintie and Fiona.

Next, we have a few more kinky lewds. Blaze and James in order, who were happy to pander to my other interests.

Lastly, I snuck in a slot for myself to draw another quick little thing for my puppy Arwyn, cause she'd been very actively supporting me earlier in the day. We've been playing GGST together for a while and since she mains BedMan, I figured it'd be cute to merge her with Delilah, the girl who accompanies him. I'm really happy with how it turned out, though I think I went over the allotted time by a fair chunk.

Arwyn and I have been through some things together this year, and we've been working hard on making our relationship work as well as we can without it being a burden either way. To be entirely fair to her, a lot of the issues were coming from me and my struggles with jealousy and envy within the group that we spend a lot of our time together; while I did my best to avoid them getting in the way or causing problems, she did a lot to accommodate me and never judged me for any of it either.

That said, in more recent months I noticed a trend in her that I was dealing with in myself: I found it terribly hard to ask for things, even though I might feel the need very strongly. Frankly, I think it was only because I felt so strongly about them that I ever spoke up. As I noted to her when talking about it a while back, I couldn't recall the last time she asked anything of me over the past several years.

I'd actually written this idea down during a trip about a month ago starting from the closing verse of the poem, and I held onto it tightly until I could ask her about it. I was definitely picking up a sense of this from her, but didn't want to be presumptuous or risk basing it off of me unfairly projecting onto her. This is, after all, an introspective, personal piece that speaks directly of another person's struggles too - possibly the first of its kind for me.

I won't go into specifics, but when I talked to her about it, her response all but confirmed that my feelings weren't unfounded. I made this in about an afternoon following that, and I'm really quite pleased with the result.

There is something interesting I noted about the process of making this piece, though. After I'd gotten done with the parts of the art that felt I had a clear plan for - namely the linework and lettering - the choices I had ahead of me regarding the colouring left me feeling a little unsure and directionless.

With something like Art is Poison, it was as if I had this unbearably intense impetus to get the feelings out of my system as part of the process of, well, processing them. This led to the choices coming easy to me, almost as if they happened all by themselves. In this case, I felt almost... Placid? Complacent about the piece? Like there wasn't that same sense of urgency I'm accustomed to when making art about intensely personal issues like this.

After finishing the piece, I realised what had happened. Once I'd spoken to Arwyn to confirm if this was relatable to her - she'd already done a very good job of reassuring me that we would work on this issue together. It hadn't instantly solved it, but I'm quite sure that feeling like we had a path forward channeled my energy away from needing to get this piece done quite so badly.

It's just a little bit of info from behind the scenes that I felt was worth delving into. As a reward, have the first draft sketch I put together from the original concept.

Arwyn got herself a new fursona! This is Scratch, and she's a sweetheart (and a bit of a hole but shh).

She's been tinkering with the idea for a little while and recently settled on a design. I promptly put to canvas the second I could, based off of the VRChat avatar design she made and the pup hood she got done for her too.

She's a smaller dog than Arwyn, just that Little Bit more carefree and happy-go-lucky (an honestly impressive feat if you ask me ) and perhaps a little less bratty, but that part's left to be seen. I love them both to bits, but needless to say I was pretty excited to see my girlfriend exploring her own identity with new fursonas too - it was certainly a bonus that she also happened to be a pup.

A while back I also found this perfect collar tag while browsing a pet store for no particular reason (*cough*), so I made a little art to include with the gift package I planned to send it to her in.

This was before she made Scratch, but given the coincidental colours of the tag, it was too good not to include this here.

I was in a remarkably Mayternity mood back in May, possibly thanks to how the Easter Day of Trans Visibility comic made me feel. I can't discount the effects of the new hormones on my headspace about it too...

For some likely essential context, at my last HRT followup appointment, the endocrinologist noted that my vitamin D levels weren't "low," they were "undetectable," and prescribed me a dose of supplements which I later learned is the same that they'd give to pregnant women.

Needless to say, it had me feeling a rather specific sort of way, and Wolfie very kindly summed up the art idea it inspired in him as "doctor says your bloods are all out of whack, prescribes you the meds that get you pregnant." It lived rent free inside my head until I got it onto my canvas during last week's stream. I think I'm pretty much hooked on drawing myself with such a huge, round belly, and milk-laden breasts.

Giving it a splash of colour and some softer shading was a lot of fun - not to mention including my lovely girlfriend Arwyn as a guest star and keen helper - and I'm glad to see it done even if it's a bit on the sketchier side than my usual fare.

After a heart-to-heart a while back, I noted that my girlfriend Arwyn was feeling a tad stretched thin, and got inspired to sic Dark Chocolate on her and give her a little bit of well deserved little time.

I'm genuinely so very pleased with this, and had so much fun making it for my adorable little pup.
